Fuelstate is a precision endurance nutrition app. We collect only the data needed to calculate your fuel plan and improve your experience.
We do not sell your data. We do not share your health data with advertisers or any third party.
This Privacy Policy explains what data Fuelstate ("we," "us," "our") collects when you use the iOS app, how we use it, and your rights regarding your information. By using the app you agree to this policy.
Data we collect
- Account
- Apple ID identifier & emailWhen you sign in with Apple, we receive a unique user identifier and, if you choose to share it, your email. Stored in our backend (Supabase) to sync your profile across devices.
- Profile & runs
- Body weight, fitness, run detailsTo generate your fuel plan, you provide inputs like body weight, fitness level, run distance, duration, and intensity. Stored on-device (SwiftData) and optionally synced.
- Location & weather
- Run routes, pace, and local conditionsWith your permission, Fuelstate uses Location to track distance, pace, and route during runs. If Weather Conditions is enabled, your current location is used to request local temperature and humidity from Apple WeatherKit so your fueling plan can adjust for heat and humidity.
- Diagnostics
- Anonymized crash reportsWe use Sentry to collect crash reports and performance diagnostics. No personally identifiable information or health data is included.
- Support
- Bug reports & messagesIf you submit a report through the app, we receive your message, device model, iOS version, and app version. Your email is used only to respond.
HealthKit & health data
Fuelstate may request access to Apple HealthKit to read relevant metrics — weight, biological sex, heart rate, and workouts — to enhance fuel plan accuracy.
- HealthKit data is used only to calculate your personalized fuel plan, import or match workouts, and save completed Fuelstate runs back to Apple Health.
- HealthKit data is never shared with advertisers, sold, or disclosed to data brokers.
- You can revoke HealthKit access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health.
If you create a Fuelstate account, your Fuelstate profile, run records, and workout-derived summaries may sync to your account so you can restore them across devices.
These practices comply with Apple's HealthKit guidelines and applicable law.
How we use your data
- To calculate and deliver your personalized fuel plan
- To sync your profile and run history across your devices
- To fetch local temperature and humidity from Apple WeatherKit when Weather Conditions is enabled
- To respond to support requests
- To diagnose crashes and improve app stability
- To process in-app subscription payments (via Apple)
We do not use your data for advertising, behavioral profiling, or sale to any third party.
Retention & deletion
Your account and run data are retained as long as your account is active. You can request full deletion of your account and all associated data at any time:
- In-app: Settings → Account → Delete Account
- Web: fuelstate.app/delete

Deletion requests are processed within 30 days. Anonymized crash diagnostics may be retained for up to 90 days per Sentry's standard retention policy.
Security
We protect your data using industry-standard practices: TLS encryption in transit, encrypted database storage, and device-only Keychain storage for authentication tokens.
Authentication tokens are stored with kSecAttrAccessibleWhenUnlockedThisDeviceOnly — they are never backed up to iCloud or transferred to other devices.
Children's privacy
Fuelstate is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact [email protected] and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we'll notify you through the app or by email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
