Privacy Policy

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains what data Fuelstate ("we," "us," "our") collects when you use the Fuelstate iOS app, how we use it, and your rights regarding your information. By using the app you agree to this policy.

2. Data We Collect

Account data. When you sign in with Apple, we receive a unique Apple user identifier and, if you choose to share it, your email address. We store this in our backend (Supabase) to sync your profile across devices.

Profile & run data. To generate your fuel plan, you provide information such as body weight, fitness level, run distance, duration, and intensity. This data is stored on your device (SwiftData) and optionally synced to our backend.

Crash & diagnostic data. We use Sentry to collect anonymized crash reports and performance diagnostics. This does not include personally identifiable information or health data.

Support submissions. If you submit a bug report or feature request through the app, we receive your message, device model, iOS version, and app version. Your email is used only to respond to your submission.

3. HealthKit & Health Data

Fuelstate may request access to Apple HealthKit to read relevant metrics such as heart rate and workout data to enhance fuel plan accuracy.

• HealthKit data is used only to calculate your personalized fuel plan within the app.
• HealthKit data is never uploaded to our servers, shared with third parties, or used for advertising.
• HealthKit data is never sold or disclosed to data brokers.
• You can revoke HealthKit access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health.

These practices comply with Apple's HealthKit guidelines and applicable law.

4. How We Use Your Data

• To calculate and deliver your personalized fuel plan
• To sync your profile and run history across your devices
• To respond to support requests
• To diagnose crashes and improve app stability (via Sentry)
• To process in-app subscription payments (via Apple)

We do not use your data for advertising, behavioral profiling, or sale to any third party.

5. Data Sharing

We share data only with the following service providers, solely to operate the app:

• Supabase — cloud database and authentication (US-based)
• Sentry — crash reporting and diagnostics (anonymized)
• Apple — Sign in with Apple authentication and in-app purchases
• Resend — transactional email for support responses

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

Your account and run data are retained as long as your account is active. You can request full deletion of your account and all associated data at any time:

• In-app: Settings → Account → Delete Account

Deletion requests are processed within 30 days. Anonymized crash diagnostics may be retained for up to 90 days per Sentry's standard retention policy.

7. Security

We protect your data using industry-standard practices: TLS encryption in transit, encrypted database storage, and device-only Keychain storage for authentication tokens. Authentication tokens are stored with kSecAttrAccessibleWhenUnlockedThisDeviceOnly — they are never backed up to iCloud or transferred to other devices.

8. Children's Privacy

Fuelstate is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify you through the app or by email. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
